Ten Budget Travel Tips to Hawaii by CheapOair.com
Hawaii is so romantic and so beautiful! The Hawaiian Islands offer something for everyone. Tour volcanoes, long sandy beaches, surf, sail, scuba dive and dine on the finest, freshest catches of the day. The Hawaiian Islands are paradise on earth, and just because you're on a budget, doesn't mean you can't wear that hula skirt and lei and live the good life. Here are ten budget travel tips that will keep you and your wallet quite happy!

Eat local, not tourist
Food can be expensive on the islands, but if you venture out beyond the tourist areas and eat where the locals dine, you will not only find cheaper food, but you’ll experience the delicious local fare.

Take advantage of free music
Many bars and restaurants offer free live music, all for the price of a beer or tropical drink.  Wander the city and see what’s out there.  Check the local paper.  Rock out on a budget!

Book in advance
When visiting Hawaii, try to book as far in advance as possible so you can find cheaper rates.

Go to the beach
Spend some quality time with sand, sun, and surf.  Slather on that SPF and spend a free day hanging out at the beach.  You might even be able to find a cheap surfing lesson or two.  Either way, you’re sure to meet some great people.

Try a bed and breakfast
Check into local bed and breakfasts on the island of your choice.  You can often find great deals at these home-run establishments.

Take a cruise
If you want to see several islands during your vacation, then consider taking a Hawaiian cruise.  Cruises are fun all-in-one package deals that will take you to several islands so you can explore more of what the islands have to offer for one low price.

Free hula lessons
Select hotels hold nightly luaus, complete with campfires, snacks, and free hula lessons.  Check with the visitors’ bureau, or with local hotels to see what they offer.

Book last minute
Great deals are out there if you’re willing to book a last minute plane ticket.  Work today, fly to Hawaii tomorrow.  Let the winds of spontaneity blow you all the way to Maui, Kauai, or Oahu for a few days.

Tour nature
The islands have numerous natural wonders, indescribable views, and almost tangible spiritual sites.  Rent a car for a day, or take a tour and see all the amazing sites for little to no money.  Also, check out the Hawaiian Zoo, which is also a very budget-minded trip.
