Ten Budget Travel Tips to Europe by CheapOair.com
Europe is a sightseeing paradise, from monuments to quaint villages, restored kingdoms, castles, cathedrals and pubs as old as Shakespeare. Classic architecture, history, and romance fill every cobblestone and brick in Europe. A European vacation can be an incredibly affordable trip because it's so easy to travel from country to country. Here are ten budget travel tips to Europe.

Eurailpasses
Most of Europe is connected by an incredible public train system, so you can fly into whatever major European city has the cheapest flight, and then visit other cities such as London, Paris, or Germany just by taking the train.  Not only is it cheaper than flying, but you also get to see all that lovely European countryside that you’ve only read about in novels.

Take walking or bus tours
Most major cities have many different walking tours that can guide you effortlessly through a city.  Whether you are interested in architecture, historical sites, or museums, you will likely be able to find a cheap, fun, and educational tour.

Museum Passes
Skip the lines, save money, and visit several of those museums you’ve longed to visit for your entire life.  When you buy a museum pass, especially in London, you can visit several museums during your stay for less money than if you bought a ticket for each museum individually.

Package Deals
Look for package deals to Europe – they are often cheaper than booking the whole trip on your own, and can include hotel, airfare, and car-rentals.  Also look for themed package deals, so if you are interested in a particular aspect of Europe, you might just find a package deal that includes tours that interest you.

Take the bus
Often less expensive than the train, the buses are rider friendly, and can easily get you where you need to go in a cheap jiffy!  Ask your hotel concierge for a bus schedule, and ride your way around those historical European cities!

Travel off-season
The off-season is generally from October through April, so look for cheap flights and cheap hotel rates during this time.  You’ll still have an amazing time, but at a fraction of the cost.

Be flexible with dates
Sometimes, if you are willing to extend your vacation for a week or two on either end, you can save a bundle on your flight.  Try different dates when booking your flights and hotels.  The deals you find might surprise you.

Book last minute
Adventures often happen with out any planning at all.  Feeling the itch for a new experience in the old world?  Check out the last minute plane ticket prices and airline/hotel package deals.  You might just find yourself whisking off to London or Paris next week!

Book round trip
If you are planning to travel to several cities during your trip, be sure to begin and end your vacation at the same airport.  Round-trip tickets are less expensive that one-way plane tickets.

Consider hotel options
Try a bed and breakfast rather than a large name hotel, check out the budget hotels, or better yet, travel with friends.  The more people in a room, the cheaper the price per person.

Dine wisely
Try to avoid high-end hotel restaurants that cater to tourists because the prices are often much higher than restaurants where the locals eat.  If you still want to visit a high-end establishment, and who can blame you, then consider buying on meal and splitting with your travel companion.  There is usually enough food for two, and at half the cost!
