For an alternative barbecue experience, check out Lem’s Bar-B-Q. This restaurant is the oldest barbecue restaurant in town. The spicy sauce at Lem’s Bar-B-Q was invented in the 1940s and has been enjoyed for years.

World-Class Sushi

If you’ve never tried omakase sushi, make it happen in Chicago. Roughly translated, it means “chef’s choice” Just relax and let the chef carefully craft his or her specialty. Put on your favorite dress or suit and prepare to be amazed. At Katsu in West Rogers Park, you can enjoy one of the best omakase experiences available in all of the United States.

For a fine-dining take on the dish, stop by EL Ideas.  Chef Phillip Foss originated the recipe after taking his two little girls out to a fast food restaurant, where he watched them dip french fries into their ice cream. Modified with modernistic, avant-garde style, the ice cream is even poached in liquid nitrogen so it doesn’t melt too fast. El Ideas is a reservation-only restaurant, so be sure to call in advance!
