Wake up to San Francisco! From European-style baked goods to large, American breakfasts, San Francisco is one of our favorite cities to wake up in. Here are just a few of the many choices that we know you’ll love.
Mel’s Drive-In
Enjoy American style cuisine at its finest at this classic-style diner with juke boxes and 50’s-themed decor. The huge menu makes it the perfect choice for the whole family. It gets busy on the weekends but it’s a large place with great staff. You’ll love it!
Rose’s Café
This cozy and intimate café is very popular with the locals. Sometimes the menu changes to accommodate the seasons but a few favorites will remain. Prepare for a warm and inviting atmosphere at this fine style Italian dining.
Mama’s on Washington Square
Mama’s is a fun place with a nice ambiance, delicious food, and a homey atmosphere that only comes with a family-owned restaurant. For over 50 years they’ve continued a tradition of fluffy omelets, homemade jam and fresh baked bread and pastries. Best to get in line early since it’s especially a popular spot for great breakfast.
Wise Sons Bagel & Bakery
Wise Sons occupy a great spot mid-city in the historic Fillmore District. Everything is made in-house by pairing classic Jewish recipes with the best Californian ingredients. Enjoy a bagel sandwich and an espresso, or simply take the enjoyment home with you by stocking up on a few bagels & some great shears.
Boulettes Larder
Boulettes Larder gives you a quiet, intimate setting in the Ferry Building so you can get your day organized and collect your thoughts during the early hours of the morning. We recommend sitting outdoors, if possible, where you’ll get a great view of the bay.
Plow
Owners Joel and Maxine treat Plow like an extension of their home, entertaining friends and family with seasonal and simple, well-made food sourced from local farms. Breakfast in particular really shines at this San Francisco institution. The lemon ricotta pancakes and the cold-smoked salmon toast are both worth waking up for.
