Free Things To Do in Orlando

There are few things better than finding fun, free things to do while traveling. So, hop on your flights to Orlando and get ready to save! We’ve scoured Orlando to find these five great free activities that will give you a feel for Orlando’s unique vibe.

Hike the Ocala National Forest

Outdoorsy travelers will be in their element while hiking the Ocala section of the Florida National Scenic Trail. Experienced hikers can opt for the entire 67-mile trail, which takes you through rolling hills, vast prairies, wooden boardwalks through swamps, and thick scrub oak. Backpackers are allowed to set up camp as long as their sites are at least 200 feet from the trail. Another option is to take one of the shorter loop trails (from 2-9 miles long) like Springs Trail, Lake Eaton Sinkhole and Lake Eaton Loop Trails, and the St. Francis Trail.

Looking to experience Disney without the big price tag? No worries. Disney’s boardwalk is a fun area with occasional free activities throughout the marketplace. You can also stroll the 1930s- style coastal village boardwalk and take in performances by local street artists, musicians, and magicians. Located alongside Crescent Lake, this area is particularly lively at night.

Visit a Gallery at CityArts

In the downtown arts district, you’ll find the CityArts Factory, a regional multi-purpose destination facility that houses Orlando’s largest collection of art galleries, a cafe, as well as meeting and classroom spaces. Gallery exhibitions rotate monthly and most are free to attend. On the third Thursday of each month, art aficionados can attend show openings at multiple venues throughout the historic building from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Here’s the best part – you can play disc golf as you’re learning about Floridian flora! Baskets are located throughout the nature paths and on the general campus.
