Orlando is known for its shopping venues and theme parks, but what about those other attractions that are just a little off the beaten path? Yes, I’ve found that Orlando is filled with quirky attractions that have just as much of a draw as the main venues. Take a look:
But first, find your flights to Orlando to get there for less!
Ripley’s Believe It or Not
At Ripley’s, you can take a one-hour tour to check out intriguing wonders of the world, including a Rolls Royce made from a million matchsticks, a shrunken head, and other astounding facts and objects. From the moment you walk up to the unique tilted appearance of the building, you know you’re in for a quirky experience.
IceBar Orlando
Yes – in the middle of hot, sunny Orlando you can relax in a real bar built from 50 tons of ice. It’s a beautiful venue that’s kept at 27 F. Complete with frozen sculptures, ice seats, and a throne, you’d better be ready with a thermal coat, gloves, and anything else you need to keep warm while having a drink. Enjoy a meal and literally “chill” with your friends.
WonderWorks Orlando
This used to be a top secret research lab on a remote island in the Bermuda Triangle (or at least that’s the premise). Led by Professor Wonder, a man-made tornado created a vortex that carried the lab to Orlando where it landed upside-down on top of a brick warehouse. This is a quirky, yet fun place where everything is upside down and topsy-turvy. Hands-on exhibits make this a fun place for kids and adults as well.
iFly Orlando
If you’ve ever wanted to know what it feels like to fly, now’s your chance. IFly Orlando is an indoor skydiving venue where everyone is welcome from ages three and up. Suit up and get ready to feel as if you’re jumping straight out of a plane. A videographer is on hand to capture those memories on DVD to show all your friends when you return from your trip. Here’s your chance to yell “Geronimo” and take the plunge!
Jungle Adventures
If you or your friends are in for something a little more daring, then Jungle Adventures is your opportunity to take a real walk on the wild side. Welcome to an area where you will encounter alligators, Florida panthers, bears, wolves, and other creatures. The Florida heat adds to the experience, making you feel like you’re really trudging through a tropical jungle. Watch large gators being hand-fed, see how early Native Americans lived, or take a cruise in a riverboat. If you’re not feeling so brave, you can sign up for a guided tour, or have a scrumptious Dinner Adventure during the evening hours.
If you want to take the road less traveled book your flights to Orlando, then make sure you add these places to your Orlando itinerary!
