Visiting Orlando is certain to be a memorable experience for any family. There are so many fun theme parks your kids can visit that it’s simply impossible to get bored. Following is an overview of five of the best spots to visit for kids and parents of all ages and walks of life.
Universal Studios
Universal Studios is a movie and TV-based theme park that the whole family is sure to enjoy. Harry Potter fans should be sure to pay a visit to Diagon Alley to tank up on (non-alcoholic) butterbeer and shop at Weasley’s Wizarding Wheezes. Older kids will likely enjoy getting to know Optimus Prime and Bumblebee up close or fighting to save the world as a Men in Black trainee. Younger kids will love Despicable Me’s Minion Mayhem and Animal Actors on Location.
Universal’s Islands of Adventure
Universal’s Islands of Adventure is home to another part of Harry Potter’s Wizarding World. In Hogsmeade, you can ride a dragon, embark on the Forbidden Journey, or catch the Hogwarts Express to London. You can also get up close and personal with the dinosaurs from Jurassic Park, pay a visit to Dr. Seuss’ wacky characters in Seuss Landing or head over to Marvel Super Hero Island to help your favorite Marvel characters rid the world of baddies.
Magic Kingdom Park
Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park is truly magical and it’s not just for little kids. The whole family will enjoy Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, Cinderella’s Castle, and Casey Jr. Splash and Soak Station. The park also offers spectacular shows such as Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and Mickey’s Philharmagic. The park is open until midnight but be aware that some rides and attractions close as early as 6pm. A FastPass can be a good investment if you have limited time and want to fully enjoy all this theme park has to offer.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
Anyone who loves animals is sure to enjoy what the Animal Kingdom Theme Park has to offer. You can embark on a three hour Safari through wild Africa, pet adorable farm animals at the Affection Station or take a trip on a time rover to save a dinosaur from extinction. The new evening attractions are spectacular as well; these include the Tree of Life Awakenings (that takes place as soon as the sun sets) and the new Jungle Book: Alive with Magic show.
Epcot
Epcot is a fascinating place where you can get to know the world better and see futuristic building and landscape designs that will inspire you for years to come. ImageWorks’ What If Labs offers interactive fun for older kids and adults, as does the Advanced Training Lab. Frozen Ever After is great fun for any young child who enjoyed the movie while Spaceship Earth is a classic that is best enjoyed as a family. Be sure to also check out seasonal special events that are only available at certain times of the year.
