With beautiful weather and the all-day sunshine, why would you want to stay indoors once you land from your flights to Miami? Here are some ways to get your fair share of Vitamin D on your trip to The Magic City:
Upper Eastside Neighborhood
One of Miami’s most historic neighborhoods, a walk here will show you the city’s unique style, architecture and landscaping. This neighborhood has two distinct areas. The Bayside District has older homes dating back to 1900, and the Morningside District has homes dating back to the 1920s and 1940s. For a fun experience, rent a bicycle or motorcycle for your self-guided exploration. There are several rental options adjacent to the neighborhood.
Beach Adventures
If you want to swim, 85th Street Beach is the place to go. Step outside the box, and try your hand at windsurfing. The best area for this is the Hobie Beach inlet where the wind is always predictable and steady. If you want to add to your shell collection, Bal Harbour Beach has the most. Get up early before the dawn to find the best selection. To get away from the crowds and visit a beach that looks and feels more like a deserted tropical island, try the Virginia Key beaches.

Coral Gables Venetian Pool
This is one of the city’s best-kept secrets for outdoor attractions and is the only pool on the National Register of Historic Places. This one-of-a-kind pool features Venetian buildings and a hidden waterfall spilling into a small lake on a tropical island. Venetian Pool is open to visitors over the age of three, and although it was originally designed to be part of a casino in 1924, it is one of the best places in Miami to enjoy some refreshing aquatic fun. There are great concession and rest areas as well.
Speed Boating On The Coast
One of the top-rated outdoor activities in Miami is speed boating. If you love the thrill of the wind in your hair and the salty spray of the ocean, you’ll love the heart-pounding experience of speed boating. Not to mention, it’s the best way to see the city’s coastline. There are several speed boating adventure companies, and since this is an in-demand activity, we recommend you make your reservation in advance.
Miami Seaquarium
If you want to swim with dolphins, play with seals and go snorkeling, but if you’re short on time, the Miami Seaquarium is the perfect solution. You can swim with trained dolphins and seals and learn from their trainers how these fascinating creatures live. Put on a globe helmet, and take an underwater walk through a huge aquarium to see a reef and a wide variety of sea creatures up close.
Miami boasts many other outdoor (and underwater) activities. From diving and coastal dinner cruises to adventures in the Everglades, every minute in outdoor Miami is packed with excitement. So hop on your flights to Miami, grab your sunnies and a swimsuit, and get ready to enjoy the great outdoors!
