Capture the Beauty of Nature 16 Capture the Beauty of Nature June 15, 2016 Guys! It's #naturephotographyday and to celebrate, I'm taking over the @cheapoair Instagram account with a great #reasontotravel – to capture nature. This is #morainelake. It's my sanctuary. My favourite place on the planet to watch the world wake up. To listen to the pika chirp in the rock piles, the see that first ray of light strike the ten peaks of the valley, and to capture #nature in absolute purity. I can't wait to get back here this summer. Ah, is there anywhere in the world quite as wonderful as home? #explorealberta #travel A photo posted by Brendan van Son (@brendanvanson) on Jun 15, 2016 at 8:12am PDT Hi everyone, @brendanvanson here taking over the account today! My main #ReasonToTravel is to capture the beauty of nature. As a photographer, I love that I can head out into the world and freeze moments that were special to me. This image – of a beautiful Adele Penguin – was taken on my first ever assignment as a photographer. 6 years ago, I was sent to Antarctica. Not a bad place to start your career as a travel photographer, right?! #NaturePhotographyDay A photo posted by CheapOair (@cheapoair) on Jun 15, 2016 at 8:00am PDT It's @brendanvanson back again with the takeover and my #ReasonToTravel. I've travelled around the world – nearly 100 countries. But, there really is no place like home – especially when home is the Canadian Rockies. For me, there is no better reason to travel, near or far, than to capture the beauty of nature. This is one of the best ways to do so – a canoe paddle out onto Lake Louise. My theme has been to "to capture the beauty of nature", but I think it's also to be humbled by nature. I think seeing how powerful nature is can be so important. And while many might feel as though it makes them feel small in this world, for me it reminds me that I'm part of something bigger. When watching the water of Manta de la Novia waterfall in BaƱos de Agua Santa, Ecuador crash down to earth, you can't help but be awed by how powerful our planet is. A photo posted by CheapOair (@cheapoair) on Jun 15, 2016 at 12:08pm PDT Once again, it's @brendanvanson back with my #ReasonToTravel. This is Kirkjufellsfoss in Iceland, one of the most picturesque places on the planet. Iceland is one of the best places in the world to capture the beautiful of nature. It's wild, open, and nonrestrictive. It's freedom in every sense of the world. I'm often taken aback by the sheer beauty of this country, this perfect island. A photo posted by CheapOair (@cheapoair) on Jun 15, 2016 at 1:33pm PDT Last image from my (@brendanvanson) takeover of the account, and my final #ReasonToTravel post. Within the reason to travel of "to capture the beauty of nature", I think it's important for us to think about the way in which we "capture" it. I think that there's something brilliant to photography. It allows us to capture something, without damaging, destroying, or degrading nature. And that's what I love about it. It's shooting an animal without killing it, it's capturing an ancient iceberg without harming its integrity, and it's about freezing a moment out in the world without impeding its growth.
