Yahoo! Travel released their holiday destination list for 2010 and named Austin, Texas as its number one locale, an interesting choice for the fall and winter holidays. With Orlando, Florida coming in second, it appears not everyone is seeking snowflakes and cool weather during this year’s festivities.

Joining Orlando and Austin in the top five were also Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Yahoo! Travel said it based this year’s list off of consumer interest and activity, including Web searches and trending data.

A Yahoo! rep stated that searches for “family vacations” rose 145 percent in the last month – while searches for “Disney World vacation packages” have increased by an astounding 305 percent.
