The world truly celebrated the end of a decade in style. From impressive firework displays to over the top musical performances, it was indeed a magical night. Sydney, Australia was the first major city to get the ball rolling with a nearly $5 million jaw dropping firework display.

Top destinations like Hong Kong, Berlin, Paris and New York did not disappoint with their light shows. The planet counted down and said good riddance to a pretty forgettable 2009 and many are hopeful for a much better 2010. Happy New Year!
