The cost appears to be unknown; various news sources said it cost $1.5 billion, while others have reported $2.3 billion and $8.8 billion. The Guinness-World-Record-setting bridge even has an undersea tunnel for traffic. According to the report by MSNBC, it can absorb a hit of a 300,000-ton vessel and is even earthquake and typhoon proof.
