Game Nation is being billed as the world’s first video game theme park

Already home to a number of world famous theme parks, Florida may soon be adding another to its collection. The folks behind Game Nation, an attraction being billed as the world’s first ever video game theme park, are showing heavy interest in Florida as a location for their ambitious endeavor.

Building the park in the Sunshine State makes sense for a number of reasons. Not only is the climate conducive to year-round tourism but with a number of international airports, the state is easily accessible via cheap flights from nearly every major international market.

Florida has also proven that there is a built-in market for fantasy theme parks with the wild success of the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando over the past year.

Video game enthusiasts shouldn’t get too excited just yet, however. While Game Nation founders recently joined forces with Atari and may now be zeroing in on a location, Jaunted reports that we are still likely years away from the park’s grand opening.
