Vision drops five cities

Beginning July 17, Vision Airlines will cut five of its 24 travel destinations due to those cities not meeting their expectations.

The cities include Baton Rouge, La.; Columbia, S.C.; Greenville/Spartanburg, S.C.; Huntsville, Ala.; and Savannah, Ga.

If it seems like we just reported on Vision starting service to most of these places, it's because they did…less than four months ago.

"We had high hopes for all of the cities we serve however, the demand in
a few of these cities has not met our expectations.  We will
discontinue the routes effective July 17, 2011," said David Meers,
Vision Airlines' Chief Operating Officer.

"There are a variety of
factors that went into our decision, but with high fuel prices, it is
not prudent to continue to fly in markets that may take a very long time
to develop.
