Virgin Galactic test plane over California

Virgin Galactic embarked on a test flight of their spacecraft with a crew for the first time last Thursday.

Throughout the six-hour flight over the Mojave desert in California, the craft flew attached to a specially constructed airplane. 

Virgin was happy with the test run and congratulated the crew afterward on a job well done.

Tests will continue on the plane over the next two years before the company starts offering commercial flights.
