Virgin Atlantic’s JFK Clubhouse Redefines Airport Lounges CheapOair Staff April 10, 2012 Air Travel, Travel Tips Sit back: No luxury was spared in the Clubhouse design by New York-based Slade Architecture. The result is a distinct space that takes you out of the airport and back to uptown New York. Amenities run the gamut from sleek armchairs with built-in power points for laptops and cell phones to a billiards table. Drink up: With many transatlantic flights to London departing in the evening, you no longer need to worry about passing time at the airport. With its spacious bar – a signature feature of English design – the Clubhouse is reason enough to make you want to arrive to the airport earlier than ever. Eat in: If you’re a frequent flyer, you’re aware that airport dining is often disappointing. With Virgin Atlantic, complementary food can be ordered from anywhere inside the Clubhouse, but the brasserie-style dining area featuring a menu of a la carte meals, desserts and wine comes highly recommended. Get styled: Maybe you’re the type that likes to crack on with work, but if you want to take a break and treat yourself the Clubhouse offers a full-service spa and salon where you can get your hair cut and styled by Bumble and Bumble, all before takeoff. The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse is located at JFK’s Terminal 4, and can be accessed by passengers with upper class tickets flying on Virgin Atlantic, Singapore Airlines and TAM Airlines, or by those with Gold or Platinum membership in Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer scheme.
