U.S. National Parks go fee-free this weekend

Don't have plans this weekend yet? Then why not check out one of the hundreds of U.S. National Parks…for free? That's right Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar has announced that admission will be waived at all parks on June 5 and 6 in honor of National Trails Day.

What is National Trails Day you ask? It's an opportunity for people throughout the United States to get outside and enjoy the many green spaces that America has to offer.

The National Park Service website notes that although admission is free, visitors will still have to pay for concessions and outdoor activities like boating and camping. If you can not make it to a park this weekend no worries, additional admission-free days this year include August 14-15, September 25 and November 11.
