Midwest travelers are expected to have a white Christmas and while that may sound just perfect for holiday enthusiasts, it is goig to mean airlines should see many delays and cancellations.

Delta, Northwest and United Airlines have already advised customers to reconsider their plans if they happen to be flying between today and Sunday. With a storm on the horizon and Christmas travel already hectic, it is going to be a messy couple of days ahead.

Snowstorms are expected to blanket much of the Midwest, with Chicago expected to get most of the bad news. Area airports like O’Hare and Midway are bracing for what should be a complete nightmare before, during and after Christmas.

Airlines will waive certain charges for travelers that are thinking twice about venturing out to the inlaws or grandma this season. Check with your airline before heading out to the airport.
