Turkish Airlines improves traffic in 2010

 

Turkish Airlines reported Thursday that traffic was up 20 percent for the first seven months this year when compared to the same time period one year ago. 

 

Turkey's state-run carrier, based in Istanbul, saw 16.3 million people fly between January and July 2010, according to a report filed by the airline.  That is up from 13.8 million passengers in 2009.

 

Occupancy rates also were up 3.9 percent to 73.4 percent. Turkish Airlines is flying high as of late and is one of the world's fastest growing airlines.

 

THY travels with 25 million passengers each year, with direct flights to 126 international and 37 domestic destinations.
