Top 5 Brunches in San Diego. Photo credit: balise42

San Diego boasts an incredible lineup of yummy
restaurants.  Here's a quick guide to
some of my favorite go-to brunch locations.

1. Parkhouse Eatery

4574 Park
Blvd

San Diego,
CA 92116

(619)
295-7275

parkhouseeatery.com/

Brunch at Parkhouse
Eatery is a local favorite. Enjoy the ecclectic atmosphere of University
Heights as you dine in one of three adorable house locations: the outdoor
garden patio, living room, or hearth room of the restaurant, each boasting its
own unique charm. The food at Parkhouse Eatery is superb with generous portions.
Brunch items are offered a la carte.

2. North Shore Cafe

3125 Ocean
Front Walk

San Diego,
CA 92109

(858)
228-9283

Although
this spot doesn't have a specific "brunch" menu, it frequents best
San Diego brunch talk because it offers both breakfast and lunch all day- brunch
any time you want it. Located right on the ocean in Mission Beach, nestled in
the WaveHouse center in Belmont Park, North Shore Cafe is one of the most
beautiful places to brunch on the boardwalk. Try an omelet or Ahi Salad;
everything is good.

3. Snooze

3940 5th Ave

San Diego,
CA 92103

 (619) 500-3344

No San Diego
brunch list is complete without including Snooze. This Hillcrest restaurant
attracts a giant following, with weekend waits on the upwards of 3 hours! The
restaurant is a pro at not only incredibly tasty food, but it also boasts an
uber hip environment and a strong dedication to sustainability: they recycle
and compost over 90% of ALL their waste, work with local farmers to offer the
freshest and most quality food, and so much more. The BLT and Reuben sandwiches
are local brunch favs.

Bonus Tip: If the wait at Snooze deters you, try Great
Maple, also located in Hillcrest on Washington. Many argue its brunch supremacy
to Snooze, and the wait is significantly shorter.

4. Le Fontainebleau

1055 2nd Ave

San Diego,
CA 92101

(619)
238-1818

If you are
looking for a fancy schmancy brunch in San Diego, head to Le Fontainebleau
located downtown inside the Westgate Hotel. For forty years, this has been one
of San Diego's go-to brunch spots; enjoy the full beverage and dessert bar
while you dine on seafood, fresh baked pastries, fruit, and gourmet selections.
Did I mention the live piano music?

5. Cafe 21

2736 Adams Ave
San Diego, CA 92116
(619) 640-2121

or

750 5th Ave
San Diego, CA 92101
 (619) 795-0721

With two locations, in University Heights and the Gaslamp
District, you are never too far from a Cafe 21. What started with an
exceptional flare for making baklava transformed into these two restaurants
intent on local, organic, made-from-scratch meals at "Nature's
Kitchen."  Be sure to try their
Shrimp Corn cake, a unique twist on Eggs Benedict.
