The New York Film Festival kicks off September 30

It’s been an action-packed month for travelers arriving on flights to New York City. The city just wrapped up a week’s worth of deeply moving September 11 tributes that captured the hearts and minds of the entire nation.

The Big Apple is also in the midst of one of the hottest New York Fashion Weeks in recent memory. And on September 30, New York’s attention will turn to the 49th Annual New York Film Festival. The City That Never Sleeps, indeed.

Tickets for the NYFF were released this morning and fans are already lining up to grab passes to some of the most highly anticipated screenings of 2011. This year’s festival will feature several must-see titles, including Martin Scorsese’s Beatle Biopic George Harrison, Melancholia directed by Cannes bad boy Lars von Trier and the apocalyptic 4:44 Last Day on Earth starring Willem Dafoe.

The festival will run from September 30 to October 16 with ticket prices ranging from $13 to $50 each. Tickets can be bought online, in person at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, or over the phone at 212.721.6500.
