Spirit Airlines Resumes Flights
Spirit Airlines resumes flights

Spirit Airlines resumed flights before anticipated, as the carrier prepared for full operations after coming to an agreement on a five-day strike.

According to flight information boards at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, at least five departures were added yesterday afternoon and evening.
Flights to Chicago, New York, Orlando and Atlanta were specified.

A spokesperson for Spirit reported 22 flights scheduled yesterday for Spirit, when on a normal day the carrier has about 150 flights.

The settlement between Spirit and its 500 pilots is still dependent on a return-to-work agreement and final talk, said Sean Creed, head of the pilots union at Spirit.

Rank-and-file pilots also must endorse the contract. A vote is expected in July.
