South African Airways and JetBlue Expand Code Share Agreement CheapOair Staff March 1, 2011 general South African Airways and JetBlue Airways announced Tuesday that they will be expanding their interline partnership with the addition of code share services from SAA on JetBlue flights beginning this Thursday March 3. According to a press release, “The code share service will be available with SAA flight numbers on JetBlue flights to 20 cities served by the airline in the U.S., connecting through either New York’s John F. Kennedy International (JFK) or Washington, D.C. (Dulles) airports and SAA’s Johannesburg hub, where passengers can access connections to more than 45 cities throughout South Africa and Southern Africa.” Passengers benefit from code share agreements since it makes travel easier on them when changing airlines during a trip. SAA and JetBlue are touting free meals and snacks on both carriers, as well as beverages and entertainment on board flights. Passengers can check bags through their entire journey when booking a SAA flight that connects to 20 cities served by JetBlue in the United States. South African Airways also announced recently that its return service from Johannesburg to New York JFK will now operate non stop beginning May 1st.
