British Airways Loses to Snow

British Airways reported Wednesday, that December’s heavy snowfall cost the company $78 million.

British Airways recorded 7.7 percent less in capacity last December compared to data from the previous December. Passengers for the airline dipped 8.3 percent last month.

The loss in travelers was due in large part to the closure of the main hub in London Heathrow airport. Passengers were stranded for four days at Heathrow airport alone. British Airways was forced to deal with cancellations for eight days globally.
