Singapore A380s are back in the air again

Singapore Airlines has decided to return their 11 Airbus A380 jumbo jets to the sky despite the decision by Australia's Qantas to wait it out until December.

Precautionary checks were carried out on the engines of all Singapore's superjumbos, with the airline stating their planes are ready to fly again.

Concerns over the Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines were brought about after a Qantas A380 experienced engine failure after taking off from Singapore.

Following the incident, Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa, the other
carriers operating A380s with Trent 900 engines, carried out maintenance checks that follow guidelines issued by both Airbus and Rolls-Royce.
