Pete's Tavern is one of the many spots featured on the show Sex and the City

“They say life's what happens when you're busy making other plans. But sometimes in New York, life is what happens when you're waiting for a table.”  – Carrie Bradshaw Sex and the City

Ah, the wise words of Carrie Bradshaw. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked to Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte for advice on love, life, and of course fashion.  Seeing New York City through the eyes of these lovely ladies gives us the opportunity to witness some of the most fabulous places in NYC. Why limit ourselves to a television screen though? Why not experience these spots up close and personal? The following places are some of Sex and the City’s most debuted hot spots. So put on your most stylish threads and get ready to see NYC the Carrie Bradshaw way.

Jimmy Choo: If you’ve seen the show you know that Carrie has one weakness that surpasses all others. I’m not talking about Mr. Big; Carrie’s kryptonite is far more powerful than any man. No, I’m referring to shoes and not just any shoes of course, but Jimmy Choo’s. 645 5th Avenue.

Pete’s Tavern: Not only is this one of New York’s oldest operating bars/restaurants (allegedly O.Henry wrote The Gift of the Magi here), it’s also where Miranda proposed to Steve! 129 East 18th Street

Magnolia Bakery: Magnolia Bakery will serve you in two ways. It’ll give you homemade delicious cupcakes (topped with butter cream) and it’ll provide you one of the many locations that Carrie gossiped about boys to Miranda. 401 Bleecker Street

Tiffany & Co.: If you know Charlotte, then you knew this would be where she and Trey shopped for rings. Visit this incredible jewelry store even if it’s just to window shop! 727 5th Ave

The Boathouse Restaurant: If you’re anything like me, you were rooting for Carrie and Big from the moment they met.  On the show, the two have lunch at the Boathouse. It’s a wonderfully romantic place that’s set on the lake of Central Park. 72 Central Park W

New York City is big, almost as big as the connection between Carrie and Mr. Big. This is just a handful of the many places the girls and their many boys experienced on the show.
