The lovely and talented R&B superstar Rihanna has been burning up the Internet this week with a new social media campaign designed to promote tourism to Barbados. The singer is a native of Barbados herself.

The Barbados Tourism Authority produced the video titled “Inside Out.” The YouTube video features Rihanna enjoying some sun and sand while frolicking in the crystal clear waters of Barbados. Afterwards, she takes a leisurely bike ride through a scenic country road and plays a little dominos with some locals, all the while, her smash hit Diamonds playing in the background. Her passion for the island is evident while she enjoys the finer things in life like horseback riding and talking a walk through an amazing green landscape.

The campaign kicked off with Rihanna posting images to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram utilizing the hashtag #Barbados. With 63 million Facebook fans, 26 million Twitter followers, and about 3 million followers on Instagram, she is certainly taking advantage of her massive social following. Fans can also win “Rihanna-inspired” prizes on the Visit Barbados Facebook page. The campaign will last until February of this year.

"We are really pleased with how our campaign has combined heritage with innovation to differentiate Barbados," says Petra Roach of the Barbados Tourism Authority. "As a girl, I remember how important and significant these locations were to me."
