The Aussie carrier said it plans to retrofit six of their Boeing 747s with 40 premium economy seats. The flights will service Frankfurt and Tokyo routes. The new seats will debut on Tokyo flights this October and Frankfurt flights in February 2011. Qantas already offers premium economy seating on their Bangkok, Buenos Aires, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, London, Los Angeles and Singapore flights. Features included on premium economy include priority check-in, wider seats, extra leg room and upgraded service. Prices are of course much higher than standard economy class seating.
