We reported here two weeks ago that British Airways was interested in merging with Qantas Airways.

However news came out Wednesday that the feeling is far from mutual at the Aussie airline. According to reports, while Willie Walsh and company would love to work with Qantas, their CEO Alan Joyce said a merger is not on their radar. Joyce made it clear that the airline has no interest in joining forces with BA.

Instead of working alongside another carrier, Qantas instead is looking to grow organically. Joyce added that the company’s focus right now is Jetstar’s growth in the Asia market.

Qantas tried to merge with British Airways back in 2008.
