Fashion Week kicks off!

New York’s Spring-Summer 2011 Fashion Week arrived on Wednesday at Lincoln Center!

Mayor Bloomberg opened the event and announced that for the time being New York’s number one subway route would be named “Fashion Line” in honor of the Fashion Week running until September 16th.

Starting Thursday, designers from around the globe will display their creations in tents set up in Damrosch Park within Lincoln Center’s complex that hosts the New York City Ballet, New York Symphony Orchestra, and Metropolitan Opera.

The famous event is the first of four, twice-a-year-fashion weeks, followed by London, Milan and Paris.
