National Parks are fee-free August 14/15

U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced Wednesday that all U.S. National Parks will waive entry fees August 14 and 15.

The free weekend is the National Park Services way to help promote tourism to some of the most beautiful destinations in the country.

It is also an affordable travel idea and a chance for many people to get outside and enjoy nature.

Commenting on the fee-free weekend, Salazar said in a statement, "I encourage everyone to take advantage of the free admission to
visit not only our greatest natural wonders but also our nation's
historic and cultural icons."

With nearly 400 national parks throughout the United States, many will be holding free events over the mid-August weekend.
