Mark Wahlberg, Brother to Open Burger Joint in Boston CheapOair Staff August 25, 2011 general The Boston restaurant game is going to see some ‘new kids on the block.’ Actor Mark Wahlberg and his brother, New Kids on the Block pop-group sensation, Donnie plan to open a burger joint in their hometown. They hit a pickle though because they had to get licensing rights to the Wahlburger name from a Rochester, New York burger joint. The Washington Post report is confirming that the Wahlberg brothers have purchased the licensing rights. No word on when the new burger joint in Boston will open or how much the brothers paid for the burger name. It will most certainly will be a tourist attraction for any one that’s mustard up some Boston flights. Wahlburgers Restaurant in Rochester opened in 1955 and has expanded to eight different branches.
