Tokyo's Narita airport was closed, with everyone evacuated from the buildings. Meanwhile nearby Haneda airport shut down two of its four runways due to the natural disaster. Singapore Airlines diverted two flights headed to Tokyo, one from Los Angeles and one from Singapore. Both have landed at Haneda and Fukuoka, respectively. British Airways has cancelled all flights from Heathrow to Narita airport until further notice.
