Mandarin Oriental comes to the City of Light

The Mandarin Oriental opened its newest luxury property this past week in one of the world's most luxurious cities – Paris. The newly-constructed, eight-story hotel is located on the popular Rue Saint Honore and boasts 99 rooms and 39 suites.

This marks the Mandarin Oriental's 27th worldwide hotel.  It cost the Hong Kong based company a reported 290 million dollars to build. One of the hotel's most talked about features is a restaurant run by Michelin-star rated chef Thierry Marx.

This marks the third luxury Asian hotel brand in less than a year to open in Paris.  Last December rival Hong Kong group Shangri-La opened an 81-room hotel across the River Seine from the Eiffel Tower
