LAX security at LAX Airport

A local investigation by a California radio news station revealed that police officers at one of the United States' busiest airports have been goofing off on the job.

KNX news radio reports that a June memo by then airport Assistant Chief Frank Fabrega is filled with complaint after complaint by angry passengers who were outraged by the lack of professionalism showcased by the officers at baggage and security checkpoints.

The officers were reportedly looking through their personal laptops, reading newspapers and chatting on cell phones.  The airport police were suppose to be managing federal Transportation Security Administration workers.

LAX director Gina Marie Lindsey denies the report and says she has not read any complaint letters thus far.
