“Start Spreading the News”

It may not be long before New York will have its own set of Las Vegas-style casinos according to the New York Post.

News is spreading the Albany lawmakers, Assembly Speaker Sheldon  Silver, and Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos, have informed the Post that they would get behind the idea. A sure bet to bring in more flights to New York.

They would support a constitutional amendment that would make slots, table and card games legal in the Big Apple.

Silver even indicated where he would like the casino to be, the Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens.

He was however aware of what it might do to the inner cities.  He was quoted in the New Post report stating the following, “I’m not averse to doing it, but I don’t want to do it all over the state. I think resort areas are appropriate, and it certainly shouldn’t be in the middle of the inner cities,” the speaker said.
