Las Vegas Sands Considering Expansion to Spain CheapOair Staff February 17, 2011 general Madrid could soon be home to a new "mini Las Vegas" Sheldon Adelson, chairman of Las Vegas Sands Corp., recently said that his casino company is looking into a $20 billion project that would create a “mini Las Vegas” in Spain. He told TheStreet.com, “We are seriously looking at doing what we call a 'Strip', which is essentially a mini Las Vegas. We are looking to do that in Europe and we are sort of zeroing on Spain." Adelson also revealed that the company has been in talks with officials in Barcelona and Madrid, two possible sites for the massive project.
