The Sea of Cortez!

A bit more laid back than its famous Cabo San Lucas (which is considered more of a party town), San Jose Del Cabo is part of the Baja Peninsula, and filled with natural wonders. If you’re less into testing out bars and nightclubs but more into the outdoor sports like kayaking, scuba diving or parasailing, San Jose del Cabo is your best choice.

If you want a relaxed, sun-filled vacation, here are some ideas:

Scuba Diving and Kayaking in Cabo Pulmo Marine Park: This park is home to the Sea of Cortez’ only hard coral reef and there’s also a wreck of a fishing boat, Colima, for those who love to seek treasures underwater.

Bird Watching: If you’re into wildlife, you’ll love the more than 200 bird species found in the San Jose Estuary and Bird Sanctuary, which is a calm place to take your binoculars and try to spot that migratory bird, especially those that nest.

Sunbathing on Playa del Amore: Considered one of Mexico’s best beaches because of ideal swimming, snorkeling and sunning conditions, Playa del Amore (Lover’s Beach) also has some jaw dropping rock formations too. This is a great place to experience a leisurely walk on the beach, and get some “me” time, as well as practice your photography.

Spot Dolphins and Whales: During the winter time, the Pacific Ocean is filled with dolphins and whales that migrate from Alaska and come all the way south to Mexico, and especially the Baja Peninsula. It’s an ideal time to rent a boat, or board a catamaran cruise to do “whale watching” trips.

Take in a Spot of Golf: There are several golf courses in San Jose del Cabo, including those found at well-known hotels and resorts. Golfing is an excellent way to keep your focus while relaxing as you tee off.
