President Barack Obama is currently visiting Europe and Tourism Ireland wants US travelers to know about it. To coincide with Obama's visit to the Emerald Isle, Tourism Ireland will be greatly increasing their marketing campaign in the states in hopes that the mainstream publicity will help boosts bookings to their country.

The United States is Ireland's second largest tourism market after the United Kingdom, so hundreds of journalists have been brought over to cover the visit in hopes it will help convince Americans to plan their next vacation overseas.

Just last week Queen Elizabeth II visited the Republic of Ireland and was well-received by most of the locals. This was the first time a British monarch visited Ireland since 1911.

CEO of Tourism Ireland, Niall Gibbons, commented on the recent visits, "This has been an
excellent month for Irish tourism with the announcement by the
government of a package of measures to stimulate the tourism sector and
now culminating in the second of our two historic visits with President
Obama’s arrival."
