George Bush Intercontinental Airport

Plans have been announced for a $1 billion renovation for Terminal B at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.

The project, which will be done in phases, is expected to be completed and open by late 2013.

Its new gate will be set up to accommodate 30 flights through three main boarding zones.

The terminal will also get a connecting bridge to a lounge, which will have concession options, restrooms and expansive tarmac views.

Lobby and baggage-claim areas will also be refurbished.
