Hockney Showcasing Exclusive New Work

Hockney’s back, and this time in London. Opening on the 21st of January, the London art scene is bracing itself for another sell-out show at the Royal Academy of Arts, this time featuring iPad art!

Visitors catching flights to London should book ahead so as not to miss out on the city’s newest attraction.

Running until April, the Royal Academy will be showcasing not only the artist’s photographs, paintings and drawings, but also his infamous iPad sketches. The exhibition will further encompass his film work, which required a whopping eighteen cameras to create.

The Academy’s last exhibition ‘Degas and the Ballet,’ which showcased the paintings of the landmark French artist, was a great success. Nevertheless, it looks like the RA’s taking a new direction this time.

It is hoped that the 2012 exhibition will encourage a younger audience to connect with one of Britain’s age-old arts institutes. British artist David Hockney, who is now 74, has pioneered the use of modern technologies such as the iPad to create exciting contemporary works, many of which have not been exhibited before.
