Traveling is almost a workout, right? With all of the exploring you want to do in a new place, it builds up an excellent appetite. Burn those calories and get ready to chow down at these good eats in Fort Lauderdale.
Steak 954
Get ready to fast all day, because you'll want to eat anything and everything at Steak 954; a luxury boutique steakhouse. Located in the grand W Hotel, you'll want to grab a cheap ticket to Ft. Lauderdale just so you can dine here because the culinary experience will be superb. Let's start with dishes like truffle mac and cheese, and lobster & crab coconut ceviche. The menu includes a lot of simple dishes done in grand style with quality ingredients, like the beef tartare or Alaskan king crab. But, the star of the show is the meat: whether its filet mignon, New York strip or aged porterhouse, you'll be asking for more. To seal the deal is the ocean front view of the crashing waves against the picture perfect sunset.
Tee-Jay Thai & Sushi
You can imagine seafood is done right here with the proximity of Ft. Lauderdale on the coast. Expect a lot at Tee-Jay Thai-Sushi where good quality fish becomes extravagant sushi platters. We are impressed by the selection and names of these rolls, like the Millionaire Roll, Beauty and the Beast and the Hurricane Roll. And when you're stormed out or too tired to head outside, you can order delivery to your hotel! Not a fan of raw fish? No problem; you can opt for grilled dishes and regular Thai favorites like Pad Thai or Curries.
Greek Islands Taverna
Unfortunately, the Greek Islands are a long flight away from Ft. Lauderdale, but fortunately, the ambiance and cuisine are closer than you think. Owned by a Greek family, Greek Islands Taverna brings a bit of the Acropolis to South Florida. We all know the Mediterranean diet is one of the healthiest, so you can spoil yourself with dishes made in fresh herbs and olive oil. The place is always packed (Which is always good!), so reservations are recommended. Visitors love favorites like the lamb chops, octopus and of course, just sweet enough Baklava.
Coconuts
When you think about Ft. Lauderdale, what comes to mind? We think of sunny beaches, good weather and a tropical paradise inviting us for a vacation. Coconuts is a part of this inspiration, not only in its name, but in its food and service. It has that typical South Florida like vibe; with its amazing location on the water, home-style dishes and an ambiance that makes you slow down and enjoy. Local favorites include sesame seared tuna, the local Mahi Sandwich and the Coconut Shrimp Platter.
Nacho Bizness International Taco Bar
You cannot help but laugh and want to visit a place called: Nacho Bizness International Taco Bar. There is always that budget place you can always count on for a good meal and this is that spot in Ft. Lauderdale. This food truck is the one to follow for a nice twist on your typical taco. Varieties that include Spicy Korean Pulled Pork, Grilled mahi mahi with pineapple and even a Jamaican Jerk Chicken taco make us want to live in Ft. Lauderdale. Oh and throw in the fact that these tacos are less than $5? We want to be all up their bizness!
