Frontier Airlines sees an increase in traffic

 

According to a figure by the carrier’s parent company, Frontier Airlines had more air travelers in May compared with the same month a year ago.

 

Republic Airways Holdings Inc. announced that its branded operation, which functions as Frontier Airlines, experienced an 11 percent increase in May in revenue passenger miles, a measure paying passenger traffic.

 

Republic gained Frontier of Denver and Midwest Airlines of Oak Creek in deals last year. The Midwest brand is being absorbed by Frontier. Every operation at Frontier Airlines and Midwest Airlines are simply being reported as Frontier Airlines.

 

In May 2009 Frontier’s load factor, a measure of how full the planes were, was at 80 percent, this May the load factor was up by five percent to 85 percent. May marked the third consecutive month in which Frontier Airlines reported a record load factor.

 

The total number of passengers flown by Frontier increased by seven percent in May to 1.3 million, Republic reported.
