If there is one thing we like almost as much as flying Frontier Airlines, it is checking out the various animals they place on each plane's tail. So we were thrilled when we heard Frontier was asking Wisconsin residents to "name the badger" in a contest that ran between May 28 and July 4.

The finalists were Bella, Buddy and Cookie. In the end Buddy was the big winner and will appear on Frontier's newest 99-seat Embraer 190 aircraft. More than 15, 000 people voted in the contest to name the latest animal to be plastered on their plane.

Frontier Airlines is currently merging with Milwaukee's Midwest Airlines, with both carriers flying under the Frontier name. While the two companies integrate technology over the next few months, customers have been told to continue checking into the operating airline for their flight.

"We're thrilled to welcome Buddy to the Frontier family," said Ian
Arthur, vice president of marketing and branding. "Our badger aircraft
is a great way to honor the Wisconsin roots of Midwest Airlines — and to
show that we offer a truly different and better flying experience."

One person will be chosen at random from all Wisconsin residents who
voted to receive a $1,000 Fly Bucks card to be used toward travel on
Frontier Airlines. Ten runners-up will receive $50 Fly Bucks cards.
