Free Outdoor Cinema at The Scoop in London CheapOair Staff August 28, 2013 Arts & History, Interests London’s riverside amphitheatre, The Scoop at More London, will host free outdoor cinema screenings of classic, cult and contemporary films from the 11th of September until the 27th. All screenings at this purpose-built 1,000-seat amphitheatre with 25 foot screen (not to mention views of Tower Bridge and the Tower of London) will be Wednesday through Friday from 7:30 p.m. and will be completely free to attend. The screenings are part of the More London Free Film Festival which celebrates its 11th anniversary this year. Here’s the line up for the 2013 festival: Wednesday the 11th is the sensational Bond flick – Skyfall – much of which was filmed on location in London Thursday the 12th is the visually stunning Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Friday the 13th is an appropriately superstitious screening of Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie Wednesday the 18th offers a family friendly night of fun with Back to the Future Thursday the 19th shows Clint Eastwood classic The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Friday the 20th brings Les Miserables to the Scoop Wednesday the 25th is Amour Thursday the 26th is Hitchcock favorite The Birds And last but not least on Friday the 27th fans can sing along with the fun hits with John Travolta and Olivia Newton John during a screening of Grease There’s no need to book ahead, just show up in time to get comfy. Seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and cannot be reserved. Cushions are available for hire. Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnic or buy hot or cold food and beverages from the many nearby cafes. However, it’s worth noting that no glass bottles or containers will be allowed. The Scoop at More London is situated between HMS Belfast and Tower Bridge on the south bank of the River Thames. The nearest London Underground stations are at London Bridge and Tower Hill (across the river and accessible via Tower Bridge). Find out more at morelondon.com.
