Fellow Passengers Help Soldier Propose at Houston Airport CheapOair Staff June 1, 2011 general A soldier used dozens of roses and his fellow passengers to propose In today’s feel-good news, a soldier returning from Iraq to Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport recently received a little help from his fellow passengers when it came time to propose to his girlfriend. Lauren Raabe was waiting patiently for her boyfriend Army Lt. George Dalton at baggage claim when dozens of strangers (Dalton’s fellow passengers) began handing her roses. When her arms were nearly overflowing, Dalton appeared, got down on one knee, and asker her to marry him. Raabe immediately said yes, much to the delight of Dalton’s newfound friends. Dalton said he had planned the surprise with his parents over Skype and received some assistance from flight attendants who helped distribute the roses. He is on leave for two weeks; the pair intend to marry when he finishes his tour in a few months. Source: ABC News
