A Little One Goes to Town in the Dinosaur Expedition!

Located right on Navy Pier, in the heart of Chicago’s most visited attractions, the Chicago Children’s Museum is the perfect way to spend a day with young children.  Three floors of learning-based fun feature the following kid-friendly exhibits for hands-on fun:
Tinkering Lab
This brand-new permanent exhibit gives your family the tools and materials to make projects of your own!  Learn to use hammers, drills, screwdrivers, and more as you tinker your way to a fantastic project!  Need inspiration?  Take the Pegboard Challenge first to get your creative juices flowing.

Dinosaur Expedition
Dig for dinosaur bones in an excavation pit that recreates the Saharan expedition where Paul Sereno, Chicago paleontologist, found the suchomimus dinosaur.

Play It Safe
Hop inside a firehouse or fire truck while donning hats, boots, and gear alike our brave heroes.  While playing and having fun (including sliding down the fire pole!), kids will learn fire safety as they put out a practice “fire” and crawl below the smoke in the “Get Low and Go” bedroom.

WaterWays
Have buckets of fun as you and your kids move water utilizing pumps, pipes, and pullies.
Kids Town
Designed specifically for early learners, this exhibit presents a small urban city for role-play like shopping at a grocery store, washing a car, and even driving a CTA city bus.

Skyline
Explore your inner architect and engineer as you build your own skyscraper.  Even babies & toddlers can get involved here.  The Skyscraper Challenge is a fun way to not only build a strong structure, but to record yourself in the process.  Archival pictures are available on their website after your mission is completed!

Kraft Artabounds Studio
Your entire family can work together to create art projects taught daily by local artists.  All ages and stages welcome!

Play Areas
Babies & toddlers will love the Pritzker Playspace and Treehouse Trails.  With books, toys, and imaginative play structures, your littlest ones can learn at their own pace.  Kids five and up can climb aboard the remains of the Kovler Family Schooner as they get their energy out.  Children of all ages can play and explore in the BIG Backyard full of oversized garden flowers and play structures.
