FAA Provides $9.1 Mill. Grant to Colorado Airport CheapOair Staff March 18, 2011 general Aspen-Pitkin County Airport Runway The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) granted Pitkin County a $9.1 million grant Thursday. It’s for the extension of the Aspen-Pitkin County Airport runway; it’ll begin this spring on April 4th with expected completion by November. It will cost $14.5 million for the airport project. Aside from the FAA, the Colorado Division of Aeronautics and airport capital reserve funds have contributed adding up to $13 million. The airport will be covering the rest of the cost.
