South African Airways received two awards this week from a top travel magazines. Executive Travel Magazine presented the airline with their "Leading Edge Award" and "Best Airline for Flights to Africa."

According to the magazine, its annual "Leading Edge Award" honors travel companies that "deliver true value to their customers."  On being awarded "Best Airlines for Flights to Africa", executive vice president, North America for South African Airways Marc Cavaliere said:

"South African Airways is honored to have been recognized by Executive Travel Magazine as the leading airline to Africa.  Earning this honor validates our efforts to offer the best and most comfortable service to Southern Africa, along with the best route network. It is also a timely award, with the World Cup taking place on the African continent.  We’re proud to play such an important role in bringing the world to South Africa for the tournament, and also celebrate having been selected by Bafana Bafana – the South African soccer team – and the US Men’s National Soccer team, as their official airline for the tournament.”

In addition to Executive Travel Magazine’s “Leading Edge Award,” South African Airways has also earned honors for its service to Africa from Business Traveler Magazine, Global Traveler Magazine, and the Skytrax World Travel Awards.
