Belgium is now home to Europe’s first solar-powered rail tunnel.

It’s a two-mile track that’s now covered in solar panels, which will generate enough energy to run all of the nation’s trains for one day per year.

The train line goes from Paris to Amsterdam.

One kilometre of solar paneling will be able to generate half a kilowatt of power, which is equal to 950 families per year.

The solar panels will also lower CO2 emissions by 47.3kg in the next two decades.
